Embarking on the journey of higher education is a dream within reach for cancer survivors, thanks to Cancer for College’s robust scholarship programs. Each year, we proudly award over 100 scholarships to deserving individuals, turning dreams into reality.
The Vera Yip Memorial Scholarship Award was established to support the financial needs of young adults who are impacted by cancer and seeking higher education. Vera was committed to promoting a love of learning and helped to inspire and empower others to pursue their personal, educational and professional dreams in the face of adversity. This award seeks to honor the applicant who best demonstrates the courage, determination, motivation and dedication that Vera displayed during her lifetime. ($2,500)
Scholarships will be awarded & granted for the total amount in the PCRF Scholarship Fund for that year. The total amount granted each year will vary. Scholarships range from $1,000 to $5,000. Recipients are selected without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability, or national origin. ($1,000 - $5,000)
The Kids Cancer Alliance Scholarship Program was established to support young adult cancer survivors and their siblings by assisting them in pursuit of their academic and professional goals. The scholarships are designed to ease the financial burden of obtaining an education from an accredited university, community college, vocational or technical school. Applications are open to individuals who meet the criteria, demonstrate financial need, and show academic and personal potential.
The Scholarship is established by a brain tumor survivor named Jessica, to provide financial support for higher education to other pediatric brain tumor survivors and graduates pursuing a college degree. The scholarship aims to alleviate the financial burden of college and support survivors who demonstrate perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges from their cancer journey. ( up to $600)
The College Scholars Program - which has now awarded scholarship to nearly 70 survivors - includes a cancer volunteer project of the student’s choice. Scholars receive support and mentorship from the Children’s Cancer Cause. Past scholarship winners have undertaken projects that include a community bone marrow drive, a podcast for other cancer survivors, and the formation of a campus cancer advocacy organization.
The National Collegiate Cancer Foundation was established to provide services and support to young adults whose lives have been impacted by cancer and who have continued with their education throughout treatment or after their treatment. These $1,000 competitive awards will be judged based on the criteria listed below. ($1,000)
The Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship Program empowers childhood cancer survivors to take the next step by pursuing their dreams in higher education. These annual scholarships celebrate the resilience and determination that have carried them through their fight and into a new chapter of growth and opportunity.
The Bristol Myers Squibb Scholarship for Cancer Survivors is a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to cancer survivors aged 25 and under who are pursuing higher education at a college or vocational school. To qualify, applicants must be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates.($10,000)
The purpose of our scholarship program is to provide support to individuals that are legal residents of the United States of America pursuing undergraduate or graduate studies who have been diagnosed with or treated for a cancer or chronic disease. ($3,000)
The Olivia M. Marquart Scholarship is awarded annually to a young adult who is either a cancer survivor or currently undergoing treatment. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a US citizen attending a college or university in the US. Olivia graduated college, before her diagnosis, with a degree in Early Childhood Education and planned to become a teacher. Therefore, the applicant must be pursuing a college degree, masters or Ph.D. in education. The applicant must reside in Pennsylvania. ($2,500)
The Ortlieb Foundation Scholarship provides financial awards of $1,000 to full-time students at four-year colleges or universities who are cancer survivors and are receiving or have received treatment for cancer. ($1,000)
