2021 Virtual Camp Happy Daily Schedules â€‹

 

Just click on the titles of the Camp Happy adventures you find mostt interesting and you'll see the daily schedules.

But, we recommend you select "All About Nature" as your first schedule because we hope you'll make your camp journal on Day 1!

ALL ABOUT NATURE

Summertime is filled with adventure and freedom! Join us on an exploration of your closest source of nature! Before we head out on our trek, we will work with the Happy Campers on decorating their Nature Sacks. Then we’ll find some nature, decorate our journals and finish the day with a snack and our first journal entry! 

 

ARTISTICALLY INCLINED

Art can be so much more than a painting. Art can include, music, dance, painting, sculpting and so much more! Learn how to tap into your inner artist in today’s camp.

COLOR THEME DAY: RED

If your favorite color is red, this is the perfect day for you. Explore the various things around us that all have the color “red” in common. Go the extra mile and wear all red today and try to eat only meals with naturally red color if you can!

CHASING WATERFALLS

Sea creatures. A terrarium. Ice trays. What do they have in common? The need for water to be effective! We've packed this schedule with loads of fun and everything relies on water. Check it out!

DESTINATION: TOKYO

Tokyo, Japan was scheduled to be the home of the 2020 Summer Olympics but because of COVID-19, the games are now postponed to 2021. But, We Cancerve still thinks it will be amazing to take a virtual trip to Tokyo. Join us in learning about Japanese art and culture. This schedule is  dedicated to the city of Tokyo and the Summer Olympic games

I "DAIRY" YOU

Ever wonder where your food comes from? We are going to learn what cows eat and how their nutrients pass onto the milk and other dairy products we consume. Plus, you'll see one of our Camp Counselors teach you how to make homemade ice cream!

​FEELIN' GROOVY

If you know anyone who grew up in the 1970s, they’ve probably told you a few times about how much fun they had in the “pre-internet” era running around their neighborhoods until the street lights came on. Take a trip to the ‘70s by enjoying some of these old-fashioned fun activities! ​

FOUR SEASONS

FUN IS IN THE FORECAST 

Tired of having nothing to do when the weather won't cooperate? Well, whether it's a rainy day or blazing hot out, we're seeing fun in the forecast with today's activities! Join us as we learn how to make fireworks in the house, fire-free s'mores and much more. These activities will bring some joy and enrichment to you while stuck inside.

FUN WITH WORDS

Words, phrases and even interjections like “Wow,” “Oh” and “Yay“ give meaning to thoughts, beliefs, emotions and desires. With words, we explain what’s important to us and we describe what we want the most. With words, we share our strongest feelings and we express our deepest beliefs. Today, we’re going to have fun using words as the basis for all that’s planned for today.

HERE COMES THE BOOM

The art of exploding things and seeing the science behind many eruptions can be so exciting! Learn about how to make your own erupting volcano, Coke and Mentos experiment and how volcanoes work.

INTERNATIONAL PICNIC DAY

June 18th is International Picnic Day so grab a blanket, pack a lunch and enjoy some time outside with nature, a friend or relative while having a picnic. We even have an activity you can do before you head out to your ideal picnic site!

 

PERSONAL FITNESS

Taking care of your body with healthy food, exercise and other physical activity promotes strong muscles and bones as well as healthy skin, and improved heart, lung and brain health. And, personal fitness can help lower stress. We’ve built an entire day filled with fun ways to personal fitness.

PREHISTORIC PLAYTIME

Was “Big Foot” real? What did T-Rex eat for breakfast? We may not be able to answer these questions but we’re going to have fun exploring a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth and birds almost as big as planes flew across the sky!

RAINFOREST DAY

More than half of the world's plant, animal and insect species live in tropical rainforests; thousands still haven’t been discovered. Rainforests are important to the planet because they absorb carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, and produce oxygen, which is important to animal survival. Learn more about rainforests in this daily schedule.

SCIENTIFICALLY SPEAKING ... 

Let’s talk about science! If you love learning about science, technology, engineering and/or math all while having fun, you’ve picked the right day to join We Cancerve on our S.T.E.M. day! From rock collecting to making oobleck, our Camp Happy Counselors have designed a fun day centered on S.T.E.M.

SELF-CARE: A DAY DEVOTING TO SELF-ESTEEM

Self-care is all about promoting positive and healthy ideals about yourself. When you take time to take care of yourself, you remind yourself that you’re important. It also teaches others how to treat you.  We focus this day on tips to produce positive feelings, boost self-confidence and build self-esteem.

​THE SOUND OF SILENCE

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be mute or deaf? It’s no walk in the park, but here are some friendly activities to give you an idea of how mute/deaf people communicate!

 

YOUNG EXPLORERS

Exploring the lovely nature of the areas around us can open our eyes to the beauty of the outdoors and introduce us to a new appreciation for the things we hear and see when we go outside! Learn how to draw what you see, become a bird watcher and dye a shirt in this schedule.
