The  We Cancerve Movement, Inc.

For a child, back-to-school season is usually filled with the excitement of picking out a fresh backpack, choosing the perfect folders, and unboxing brand-new markers. But for children spending their days  and nights in a hospital bed or clinic chair, that excitement can feel worlds away.

That is why the We Cancerve Movement, Inc. created the Back-to-School Buggy—a vibrant, joyful solution designed to bring the traditional school shopping experience right to the bedside. 

​

Launched in 2024, the Back-to-School Buggy is a colorful, custom-wheeled cart packed with drawers of brand-new school supplies. Instead of missing out on the anticipation of a new school year, young patients get to become shoppers. The project was inspired by one of our youth board member's family friends, Mrs. Stephanie Watkins, a nursing coordinator Harford Community College.

The best part? Everything on the cart is 100% free.

Operated entirely by We Cancerve’s dedicated youth team, the buggy rolls through hospital halls to bring choice, dignity, and a sense of normalcy to children facing serious medical battles.
