Every day for the past eight years, the We Cancerve Movement, Inc. has worked diligently to bring swift solutions to homeless, sick and foster children because we believe happiness shouldn’t have to wait. Through a series of annual and pop-up projects and events, we’ve reached more than 23,000 youth mostly throughout Maryland, and have extended our reach to Delaware, Ohio, Kenya and Namibia.
In 2020, We Cancerve created the “Let’s Do More” Microgrant to help the disproportionately high numbers of Black youth who are homeless and in foster care. We are proud of our 2020 honorees: BeMoreCaring, The Franciscan Center of Baltimore and Resiliently You.
Maryland-based nonprofits with proven records of servicing predominantly Black homeless youth may apply in 2021. Also eligible to apply are Maryland-based nonprofits with proven records of servicing predominantly Black foster youth who - within 12 months - are aging out or have aged out of the foster care system. We Cancerve will award up $8,460 over the next four years to address:

We will accept applications annually during the life of the grant. Previous winners may reapply. Disbursements of up to $2,115 to one or more eligible nonprofits will be made once a year. To be eligible, applicants must be tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) or (c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code.
